The West Mill is one of our favourite venues to photograph and we’re lucky enough that it’s on our doorstep. We know the venue & the team really well & always have a fab time creating awesome wedding photos for our West Mill brides & grooms.
The West Mill, Derby is one of those venues that just gets us in all the right places. The building is mega impressive & the riverside location is pretty spectacular. We’re big fans of the industrial vibe and all the original features inside. For a West Mill wedding photographer, the ultimate winner are the Georgian windows, which create stunning light and make The West Mill the perfect venue for wedding photography in all seasons.
We shoot in a mostly documentary style, to tell your story as it unfolds. The real moments – the love, the fun, the crazy stuff that happens when you get married, surrounded by your favourite people. We don’t direct your day. We don’t steal you for hours. We keep things relaxed, natural and fun, so you can relive your day in photos that remind you how it felt to be there.
We will, of course, take a few family photos (at your request) and find a good time to sneak off for some photos of the two of you. We keep portrait time as natural as possible. No cheesy poses or smiling to camera. We look for some beautiful light, go for a wander and let you be you.
